Mochras – Gum Resins of Bombax Ceiba
Mochras is sometimes used as a substitute for Gum Tragacanth and is also used in bookbinding, cosmetics and to thicken ice-cream and in medicines. It is known to be an aphrodisiac when consumed with Gur and Cow’s milk. It has astringent properties and is also good for diarrhea and dysentery. It is a very well known remedy for female problems including irregular periods. It works wonders to ease the pain of piles. It is also a good blood purifier.
Mochras is an astringent, cooling, demulcent, tonic and stimulant in nature. It is also useful in hemoptysis, pulmonary tuberculosis, influenza, burning sensation, menorrhagia, and enteritis.
Mochras is one of the ingredients used in Pushyanug Churna; which is used in the Ayurvedic treatment of gynecologic disorders such as Leucorrhoea, Menorrhagia, Menstrual disorder, Metrorrhagia, excessive menstrual bleeding of various aetiology; & also used in treating uterine infections.
